Terms of Service

By accessing and using Style Equalizer ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, please do not use the Service.

The Style Equalizer ("we," "us," or "our") reserves the right to update, change, or replace any part of these Terms of Service by posting updates on our website. It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for changes.

Style Equalizer is a writing enhancement tool that transforms user-submitted text using artificial intelligence while preserving the author's unique voice. The Service includes:

• Text transformation using seven directional controls
• 382 professional presets (fiction, nonfiction, author/creative, and business)
• Voice Clarity monitoring and preservation
• Educational tutorials on writing craft
• Export functionality for transformed text

The Service is provided on a subscription basis with six tiers:

• Free: 10,000 words/month, 8 fiction presets
• Fiction: $29/month — 150,000 words/month, 76 fiction presets
• Nonfiction: $29/month — 150,000 words/month, 100 nonfiction presets
• Author: $49/month — 300,000 words/month, 195 presets (76 Fiction + 100 Nonfiction + 19 Author/Creative), Professional Mode with Scene Enhancement
• Business: $69/month — 300,000 words/month, 187 business presets
• Agency: $129/month — 1,000,000 words/month, all 382 presets, Professional Mode with Scene Enhancement, 3 team seats

Account Creation: To access certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Maintain and promptly update your account information
• Maintain the security of your password and account
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

Account Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Service. If you are under 18, you may only use the Service under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms.

Account Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.

Free Tier:

• 10,000 words per month
• 8 fiction presets
• No credit card required
• Resets on the 1st of each month
• May be discontinued or modified at any time

Paid Subscriptions (Fiction, Nonfiction, Author, Business, Agency):

• Billed monthly at the rate specified on our Pricing page
• Automatic renewal unless cancelled
• Payment processed through secure third-party payment processors (Stripe)
• Subscription begins immediately upon payment

Billing Cycle: Your subscription will automatically renew each month on the anniversary of your initial purchase unless you cancel before the renewal date. You authorize us to charge your payment method on file for the applicable subscription fee.

Price Changes: We reserve the right to change subscription prices at any time. Price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of any price increases.

Failed Payments: If payment fails, we may suspend your account until payment is received. After multiple failed payment attempts, we may cancel your subscription.

Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation:

• You will retain access until the end of your current billing period
• No refunds will be provided for partial months
• Your account will revert to the Free tier after the paid period expires
• No automatic renewal will occur

Refund Policy:

• Free tier testing: We provide 10,000 free words so you can test the Service before upgrading
• After upgrade: All sales are final. No refunds for partial months or unused word allocations
• Service disruption: Pro-rated refunds may be issued at our discretion if the Service experiences significant downtime

Account Deletion: If you wish to permanently delete your account and all associated data, contact us at support@thestyleequalizer.com. This action is irreversible.

Your Content: You retain all ownership rights to the text you submit to Style Equalizer ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to:

• Process and transform your text using our AI technology
• Store your content temporarily for service operation
• Display transformed results back to you

We Do NOT:

• Claim ownership of your User Content
• Use your content to train AI models
• Share your content with third parties
• Publish or display your content publicly without explicit permission

Transformed Output: The transformed text generated by Style Equalizer belongs to you. You may use it for any purpose, including commercial purposes, without attribution to Style Equalizer.

Our Intellectual Property: Style Equalizer, including its software, algorithms, design, logos, and documentation, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or reverse-engineer the Service
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices
• Use our trademarks without written permission
• Create derivative works based on our technology

You agree NOT to use Style Equalizer to:

• Generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or hateful
• Violate intellectual property rights of others
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Distribute spam, malware, or viruses
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service
• Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service (except via approved API)
• Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
• Generate content for deceptive purposes (fake news, phishing, scams)

Violation of this policy may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.

Voice Clarity Technology: Style Equalizer uses patent-pending Voice Clarity technology to measure the preservation of your authentic writing characteristics during transformation. Voice Clarity:

• Begins at 100% (your original text represents your pure authentic voice)
• Calculates in real-time as enhancements are applied
• Measures preservation across multiple independent dimensions
• Alerts when preservation falls below recommended thresholds

How We Define Voice: Voice Clarity measures the preservation of your story meaning—your thematic intent, emotional truth, and narrative message. This is distinct from craft elements (word choice, sentence structure, professional techniques), which we enhance while preserving your authentic voice.

You acknowledge that:

• Voice Clarity is a proprietary measurement system based on multi-dimensional analysis
• Individual perception of voice preservation may vary from calculated measurements
• Transformed output should be reviewed before final use
• Voice Clarity thresholds are guidelines; you determine what preservation level satisfies your creative needs
• The Service enhances craft and technique while preserving story meaning as defined by our system

AI Transformation: Style Equalizer uses artificial intelligence to transform your writing toward industry-benchmark standards. You are responsible for reviewing and editing all output before use. The Service does not replace professional editing or writing services.

No Professional Advice: Style Equalizer does not provide legal, financial, medical, or professional writing advice. Any content generated should not be construed as such.

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

Data Security: We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention:

• Free tier: Text is processed and discarded immediately (not stored)
• Paid tiers: Text may be stored temporarily for usage history (configurable in settings)
• Account data is retained until account deletion

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• Style Equalizer is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure service
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the past 12 months
• We are not responsible for loss of data, profits, or business opportunities

Indemnification: You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Style Equalizer, its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

Style Equalizer may integrate with third-party services (payment processors, analytics, etc.). Your use of these services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

Third-party services we use:

• Stripe (payment processing)
• Third-party AI services (text processing)
• Analytics tools (usage tracking)

We reserve the right to:

• Modify or discontinue the Service (or any part) at any time
• Change features, pricing, or availability of presets
• Impose limits on usage (even for paid subscribers, if necessary to maintain service quality)

We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes that negatively affect paid subscribers.

Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of [YOUR STATE], without regard to conflict of law principles.

Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through:

2. Binding Arbitration: If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration
3. Class Action Waiver: You agree to resolve disputes individually, not as part of a class action

Exceptions: Either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations or breaches of confidentiality.

Entire Agreement: These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and The Style Equalizer.

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.

No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision shall not be considered a waiver of those rights.

Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms to any successor or affiliate.
